"So I have a picture in my bathroom from my stepmom that she gave me probably 15 years ago. It says “If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Only then would you realize how special you are.” This picture has hung in multiple houses, and I always put it where I can read it every day, but I’ve never truly grasped how other people see me. I have ALWAYS been my worst critic (I’m sure others can relate).
That being said, during my session with Alicia I not only got to see how others see me, but I got to FEEL that. Alicia was my cheerleader for ALL THE THINGS!! Her words have found a permanent spot inside me and I will forever hear her when I start doubting myself. She helped me feel so empowered, beautiful, talented, funny, smart, sassy, and most importantly loved. How can a 2 hour boudoir session do that? Well, Alicia isn’t JUST a photographer. She lives and breathes what she does and she loves. She loves what she does and she loves supporting and lifting up other women. I had never officially met Alicia, other than in Facebook land, but I walked in and felt like I had known her for years. It was like reuniting with a best friend. We spent a few hours laughing, throwing out some sass, and even crying a little. (And damn, that session was a fricken workout 🤣). Yes, I love all the sexy pictures and, wow, I have had many moments where I can’t believe that is ME!! 🔥🔥🔥BUT, the experience is SO MUCH MORE THAN SEXY PICTURES! I well cherish not only the pictures, but also the experience forever.
